mySmartHome offers a cloud-based service with no monthly fee.  This system, available online, allows the building of a customized smart 'unit'.  The same devices can be used in a home, apartment, farm  or commercial building.

The system works through a wireless 'gateway' that communicates with the cloud-based server.  mySmartHome devices are among the simplest, safest and lowest cost solutions available.

 

mySmartHome devices are manufactured in Aberdeen, SD.  This provides a fully trusted engineering, test and fabrication environment. 

At this time we do not have agreements with all smarthome systems and device providers to show their products on this page.  However, we have provided descriptions of some easy-to-use SmartHome systems and include convenient links to their websites for more information.

A cloud-based system known as SmartThings.  It is providing an integrated system with tech support.

 

This product is available online and the basic kit costs $199 with a full line of devices.

 

The basic service is free.

 

We have significant installation experience with SmartThings (by Samsung).  It is a reliable, easy-to-use system.

SmartThings has integrated their system with 10s of third party devices for any application.

Available from Staples

A cloud-based service with no monthly fee.  This system, available from Staples, allows the building of a customized SmartHome.

 

The system works through a wireless 'hub' installed in your home that communicates with the cloud-based server.  The hub is available through a national office supply chain.

 

The system intends to let the do-it-yourself (DIY) homeowner add smarthome devices from various manufacturers to the hub and create your own, customized system.

 

We have no experience with this DIY, non-integrated approach yet.
